Manager: first day

What a manager runs day to day - flocks, daily records, health, tasks, and the money side.

Manager: first day

As a manager you keep the operation moving: flocks are placed, daily figures are entered, and problems are caught early.

What to do

  1. Learn the flock list. Open /lots/list to see every active Lot. PoultryDesk uses Lot as the common label for a flock or hatchery egg set. Place new ones at /lots/new against a house.
  2. Check the daily figures. Make sure mortality, feed, and (for layers) eggs are being recorded. Missing daily records are the first thing to fix.
  3. Watch health and withdrawals. Record treatments under /health. A flock under an active medicine withdrawal cannot be sold or harvested without an audited override.
  4. Assign tasks and SOPs. Use /tasks to hand out work and attach standard operating procedures so the team follows the same steps.
  5. Read the money side. Record sales and expenses under /finance, and read profitability by flock to see which flocks are performing.

Watch out

Corrections are new entries, never silent edits - a re-allocation supersedes the prior one and the history is kept. If a screen looks missing, it is usually a role or plan limit; check with the owner.
